GAWL'S LONG AND PROUD HISTORY

GAWL is celebrating its 80th Anniversary in 2008. We have played a strong and decisive role in the evolution of not only the role of Georgia's women lawyers, but in the legal history of Georgia, in general. In celebration of this role, we will be posting important and fascinating information and documents from GAWL's history. For example, did you know that GAWL had the only female member on the Warren Commission? Or that we've had numerous Presidents of the National Assocation of Women Lawyers? Or that GAWL played the decisive role in allowing women to serve on juries in Georgia?

Watch this space in coming weeks to learn more about GAWL's history and its strong leadership role! If you have information or historic documents that you think might be of interest, please contact us.
